Charges Filed Against Saakashvili and His 7 Supporters in Georgia
Charges have been filed against former President Mikheil Saakashvili and seven of his supporters in Georgia. This was announced by Georgia's Chief Prosecutor Giorgi Garibashvili during a press briefing.
“Criminal prosecution has been initiated against Mikheil Saakashvili, Giorgi Vashadze, Nika Gvaramia, Nika Melia, Zurab Japaridze, Elene Khoshtaria, Mamuka Khazaradze, and Badri Japaridze for crimes against the state, including aiding a foreign state in actions of sabotage and hostile activities, financing activities aimed at undermining the constitutional order and national security, as well as calls for a violent change of the constitutional order or overthrowing the state authority,” he stated.
