EU Expansion Possible by 2030, Says Kaja Kallas
The head of the EU's foreign policy, Kaja Kallas, has stated that the accession of new members to the European Union by 2030 is a realistic goal. According to her, Montenegro and Albania are particularly close to completing this process.
“Montenegro is the most advanced in the EU accession process, while Albania is gaining unprecedented momentum, and both countries are leading the race for membership,” Kallas noted during a press conference in Brussels.
She also addressed the European Commission's enlargement report, highlighting that the overall assessments are positive for Albania, Montenegro, and Ukraine. At the same time, the report pointed out mixed results for Serbia, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Turkey, while Georgia's ratings were assessed as negative.
