Tigran Avinyan on Citizens Using Public Transport Without Tickets
The Mayor of Yerevan, Tigran Avinyan, addressed the effectiveness of a project aimed at imposing administrative responsibility on citizens traveling without tickets during the preliminary discussions of the 2026 state budget.
"This project has resulted in a 20% increase in revenues, which is a substantial difference, and we are actually seeing a significant reduction in the number of citizens traveling for free," the mayor stated, adding that, thanks to the law adopted with the assistance of colleagues from the National Assembly, a large part of the revenues now comes to the city.
