Mandatory Military Service Term Reduced
The government today has adopted a decision to amend the law on military service and the status of servicemen during its session on non-reported projects.
Starting from the winter conscription of 2025, the 24-month mandatory military service term will be reduced by 6 months, establishing an 18-month term for mandatory military service.
The adoption of this project anticipates a decrease in expenses related to organizing mandatory military service beginning in the second half of 2027, as the 18-month service term will conclude in July 2027, starting from January 2026.
