SATM Discovers 810 kg of Non-Slaughterhouse Origin Meat at GUM Market, Destroys It

The Food Safety Inspection Body (SATM) is continuing its intensified oversight of meat and meat product sales points. According to reports from the Inspection Body, recent inspections have taken place in GUM Market located on Khorenatsi Street in Yerevan, as well as in several other commercial locations in the capital.

SATM head Tigran Petrosyan monitored the operations and noted that inspections will be ongoing, emphasizing that meat of non-slaughterhouse origin is subject to confiscation and destruction without compromise.

During the continuous monitoring, documents proving the origin of the meat (Form 5), sanitary and hygienic conditions of storage, as well as compliance with temperature regimes were examined. As a result, approximately 810 kg of meat and meat products of non-slaughterhouse origin were discovered, which were immediately confiscated and destroyed under the supervision of the inspection body.

SATM stresses that control activities will continue throughout the republic to ensure compliance with food safety legal requirements and to protect consumer health.
