China Condemns New U.S. and EU Sanctions Against Russia
“China is neither guilty nor a participant in the Ukrainian crisis. The European side does not have the right to make irresponsible statements about normal interactions and cooperation between Chinese and Russian enterprises,” said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Gao Xuqing.
He called on Brussels to “stop creating problems with China,” promising that Beijing “will take all necessary measures to protect its legitimate rights and interests.”
Gao Xuqing also criticized the new U.S. sanctions against Russia, stating: “China consistently opposes unilateral sanctions that have no basis in international law and have not been endorsed by the UN Security Council.”
