Israeli Army Destroys Houthi Chief of Staff
The Houthi movement, a Shiite group known as 'Ansar Allah' in Yemen, has announced the death of its chief of staff, Mohammed al-Ghamari, as a result of an Israeli strike. In a statement, the movement indicated that Major General Youssef Hassan al-Madani has been appointed as the new chief of staff.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz simultaneously revealed that al-Ghamari had been neutralized back in August during an attack by the group’s leaders that resulted in the deaths of the Houthi Prime Minister and nearly a dozen other high-ranking officials. He added that Israel would continue to undertake similar operations against any threats in the future.
According to the 'Times of Israel', it is highly likely that Mohammed al-Ghamari was injured during an airstrike. It is worth noting that the Houthis began their attacks on Israel in November 2023, following a month after Hamas militants had attacked Israeli settlements. They launched over 130 missiles as well as dozens of drones towards Israel. In response, the IDF carried out 19 strikes on Houthi bases in Yemen.
Yemeni extremist leader Abdul Malik al-Houthi announced after a ceasefire declaration regarding Gaza that the group would resume its attacks if it deems that Tel Aviv is not fulfilling its part of the agreement.
