First Meeting in History Between the Leaders of Armenia and Pakistan
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev have conversed within the framework of the upcoming "Peace Summit" to be held in Sharm El Sheikh. Reports from Telegram channels indicate that a trilateral meeting has taken place among the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Pakistan.
It is noteworthy that this is the first meeting in history between the leaders of Armenia and Pakistan. Until August 31, 2025, diplomatic relations were non-existent. Pakistan has now recognized Armenia as an independent state, and diplomatic relations between Armenia and Pakistan are set to be established by August 31, 2025.
Until that date, Pakistan was the only country in the world that did not recognize Armenia as a state, while Armenia recognized Pakistan. Pakistan acknowledges Azerbaijan's territorial integrity both during and after the Artsakh War. Moreover, Pakistan does not recognize the Armenian Genocide of 1915.
