44 Organizers and Participants of October 4 Unrest Arrested in Georgia
The police have arrested an additional 8 individuals connected to the events of October 4 in Tbilisi, when a crowd attempted to storm the presidential residence.
This information was provided to reporters by Georgia's Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Alexander Darakhvelidze. “In total, 44 people have been arrested in connection with the events of October 4, and four more are wanted,” said Darakhvelidze.
He noted that the basis for the arrests was video footage and reports from television channels. It is important to recall that on October 4, participants in a protest against the local election results damaged the fences of the presidential residence in Tbilisi and attempted to enter the building. The police used water cannons and tear gas against the protesters.
