The Secretary General of the Turkic States Organization Discusses the 'Trump Route'
The implementation of the 'Trump Route' will provide an additional boost to the success of the 'Middle Corridor' initiative. This was stated by Kubanichbek Omuraliev, the Secretary General of the Turkic States Organization, in an interview with APA.
"The Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) envisions the opening of a 43 km road in Zangezur that will connect Azerbaijan with Nakhchivan and will be managed by the USA. This road will become part of a major trade corridor from Central Asia to Azerbaijan and then through Turkey to global markets. We call this corridor the 'Middle Corridor'. It is positioned on the East-West axis between North and South transport corridors and has significant strategic advantages compared to two alternative routes. These advantages include shorter distances, favorable climate conditions, as well as a more stable political environment.
The establishment of comprehensive peace and stability in the region, along with the implementation of the 'Trump Route', will serve as an additional impetus for the success of the Middle Corridor initiative," the Secretary General stated.
Kubanichbek Omuraliev also focused on the special role of the USA in the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia. "We welcome the joint statement signed in Washington in August 2025, mediated by the US President, as well as the preliminary signing of the agreement on the establishment of peace and inter-state relations. This important step demonstrates the parties’ determination to leave behind the legacy of conflict and build a future based on cooperation and mutual respect. The constructive participation of the USA has played a key role in creating the necessary conditions for achieving this success. We consider this development to be a historic turning point not only for Azerbaijan and Armenia but also for the entire South Caucasus and beyond, paving the way for sustainable peace, stability, and prosperity," emphasized Kubanichbek Omuraliev.
