Death Penalty to be Imposed for Murders in Washington D.C.
U.S. President Donald Trump has signed an executive order establishing the death penalty for those accused of murder in Washington D.C.
As Trump noted during a meeting with reporters at the White House, the death penalty aligns with Washington's status as the capital. “We are not playing games,” the president stated, referencing data indicating that no murders have been recorded in the city during the last four weeks since the deployment of National Guard troops.
Meanwhile, Attorney General Pam Bondi mentioned that the U.S. administration will aim to allow the death penalty nationwide.
