Iran Discusses Russian Gas Supplies Through Azerbaijani Territory
Iran hopes that Russian gas supplies via Azerbaijani territory will commence in the near future. This was announced by Kazem Jalali, the Iranian ambassador to Russia, in an interview with TASS.
"We hope that this will happen soon. We are currently negotiating with Gazprom, and almost all issues have already been resolved. But we need to find a common ground on pricing. If this issue is also settled, then everything will start," he stated.
Earlier, Sergey Tsivilev, Russia's Minister of Energy, announced during the 18th meeting of the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation between Russia and Iran that the first supplies of Russian gas through Azerbaijani infrastructure will begin in 2025, with an annual volume of up to 1.8 billion cubic meters.
