Ali Larijani Appointed as Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran
Ali Larijani has been appointed as the Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council. According to Iranian media reports, the relevant decree was signed by President Masoud Pezeshkian.
Previously, this position was held by Ali Akbar Ahmadian. Larijani has served as an advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
It is also noteworthy that against the backdrop of new threats from U.S. President Donald Trump, Iran’s Supreme National Security Council has decided to establish a special body, the Defense Council, which will be tasked with addressing issues related to protecting the country from external threats.
