Macron Sues Blogger Who Claimed First Lady Was Born Male

French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte, have filed a defamation lawsuit against blogger and commentator Candace Owens, who claims that the French leader's wife was born a man. The 218-page legal complaint has been filed in a Delaware court, according to AFP.

The lawsuit states that Owens spreads "misleading, defamatory, and outrageous lies." Owens, who has millions of followers on social media, has repeatedly claimed that Brigitte Macron underwent gender reassignment surgery. She has also released a series of videos titled "Becoming Brigitte."

For years, a conspiracy theory circulating on social media has suggested that the French First Lady was born Jean-Michel Tronnoy. No evidence has been presented to support this theory.
