EU is Blackmailing Georgia: Kobakhidze
The European Union has fully switched to a mode of attack against Georgia, using the potential cancellation of the visa-free regime as blackmail due to the country’s refusal to open a 'second front' against Russia. This was stated by the Prime Minister of the Republic, Irakli Kobakhidze, during a press briefing.
“The desire to open a second front in Georgia is so high that the 'global war party' has reorganized the entire European bureaucracy to attack Georgia, using its last trump card: the abolition of the visa-free regime. Those who wish to draw our country into war believe that if the European Union revokes the visa regime, even for unclear reasons, it will cause such unrest in society that will end with a coup and the installation of agents in power,” Kobakhidze said.
Kobakhidze also accused the former U.S. administration of attempting to drag Georgia into war. He noted that immediately after the start of military operations in Ukraine, former U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and former U.S. Ambassador to Tbilisi Kelly Degnan began to attack the Republic.
