Zelensky Confirms Discussion of 'Mega Deal' with Trump
U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky are discussing the possibility of signing a "mega agreement" in which the U.S. would purchase combat-tested drones from Ukraine, with Ukraine receiving a certain amount of American weapons in return.
Zelensky made this statement in an interview with the New York Post. According to him, during recent negotiations with Trump, they discussed an agreement that would allow both countries to collaborate in the field of aerial technologies. Ukraine is prepared to share the experience gained during three years of war with Russia.
As noted by NYP, the potential agreement between the U.S. and Ukraine could significantly change the situation for the American military and national security system. Experts warn that the U.S. is seriously lagging behind Russia and China in the drone sector, and American military personnel are not adequately prepared to utilize such technologies or defend against them.
“The American people need this technology, and you should have it in your arsenal,” Zelensky stated about Ukraine's newest drones that have been able to penetrate Russian defenses and disable bombers during the "Spiderweb" operation.
“I think this is a real mega-deal, as they say, beneficial for both sides,” the Ukrainian president replied.
