Russia to Replace CIS Migrants with Indian Workers
In Russia, including the Sverdlovsk region, it is planned to attract up to 1 million labor migrants from India to compensate for the shortage of qualified personnel. This was reported by Andrey Besedin, head of the Ural Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
According to him, the lack of workers is attributed to some employees being sent to the front lines. Besedin noted that a General Consulate of India will be established in Yekaterinburg, which will deal with labor migration issues.
There are also discussions about attracting workers from Sri Lanka and North Korea, but this will be more challenging.
