Russia Officially Recognizes Afghanistan's Islamic Emirate - Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Russia has officially recognized the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. This was announced by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirms this," stated the diplomatic agency, commenting on the information concerning the recognition of the state.

Earlier, TASS reported that the flag of Afghanistan, presented by the Taliban, was hung on the embassy in Moscow for the first time since the movement came to power in 2021.

On July 1, the newly appointed Afghan ambassador to Russia, Gul Hasan, arrived in Moscow, and on July 3, Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko accepted copies of his credentials.
