Which Countries Are Subject to Entry Restrictions in the USA
On June 9, the USA implemented a complete entry ban for citizens of 12 countries and a partial ban for citizens of seven other countries, according to Deutsche Welle.
The complete entry ban applies to citizens from Iran, Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, the Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen. A partial ban has been imposed on citizens from Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan, and Venezuela. These individuals will not be issued guest and student visas. However, visas for work purposes or for family reunification with American relatives remain available.
Exceptions are made for those who hold a residence permit (green card) in the USA, dual citizens holding a passport from a non-restricted country, and certain family members of US citizens.
According to Trump, such measures have prevented terrorist attacks in the USA.
