Azerbaijan's Response to France's Concerns: Hajiyev
The arms supplies from France to Armenia and its long-standing anti-Azerbaijani stance, which do not contribute to peace, do not align with the concerns expressed by Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barré regarding the escalation of tensions in the region. This was stated by Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ayхан Hajiyev on his X page.
“Although the completion of work on the peace agreement is an important event, its signing and achieving stable peace in the region require the removal of territorial claims against Azerbaijan from the Armenian Constitution and, in particular, the cessation of external interference by France that contributes to the destabilization of the situation in the region. Furthermore, creating obstacles to the prosecution of individuals accused of crimes against humanity not only hinders the implementation of those cases but also undermines accountability for the crimes committed,” he wrote.
It is noteworthy that the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry spokesperson, in response to the statement by the French Foreign Minister, had noted that such a dual approach reveals France's hypocrisy.
