The Threat of New Military Conflict Will Always Remain: Aliyev

Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev stated that the election of Donald Trump as President of the United States was a "great disappointment" for Armenia. According to him, Armenia hoped that the Democrats would remain in power following the elections in the U.S.

At the same time, he pointed out that despite this, there are no disagreements in the Armenian political elite regarding their attitude towards Azerbaijan. "The issue is only in terminology, behavior, and tactics. The substance does not change, and we must be prepared for that. In other words, as long as a peace treaty is not signed, and Armenia has not completely renounced its territorial claims against Azerbaijan, which are still enshrined in their constitution, and has not shown sincerity in resolving relations with Azerbaijan, the threat of new military conflict will always remain," Aliyev emphasized.
