Bulgaria and Greece Expel Refugees
Bulgaria and Greece are 'getting rid' of refugees by purchasing tickets for them to Germany, according to Bild. The publication reports that Athens and Sofia have found a way to legally transfer migrants to Germany.
After receiving temporary documents that allow them to stay in the Schengen area for 90 days, refugees purchase low-cost tickets to Germany, where they then apply for asylum again.
It is noted that approximately 25,000 migrants have arrived in Germany from Greece in this manner in 2024. The situation has raised concerns in Berlin; shortly, CDU representative Nathaniel Liminski will travel to Athens for negotiations.
