Temporary UN Administration in Ukraine: Putin's Proposal
Russian President Vladimir Putin has proposed establishing an external administration in Ukraine under the auspices of the United Nations, with the aim of conducting legitimate elections and bringing a viable government to power, TASS reports.
Putin also stated that such elections conducted by the Ukrainian leadership would make it possible to initiate peace negotiations and sign legitimate documents.
Later, this proposal elicited a response from the spokesperson for the White House National Security Council, John Hewitt, who emphasized that the Ukrainian leadership is determined by the country's constitution and its people.
