Saakashvili's Imprisonment Term Extended by Several Years
Mikhail Saakashvili has been sentenced to 4.5 years in prison for illegally crossing the border. The judge extended this term last week by adding 9 years to Saakashvili's previous prison sentence. Thus, Saakashvili will spend a total of 12 years and 6 months in captivity.
The prison term will be calculated from the moment of his arrest, which occurred on October 1, 2021. Furthermore, the trial regarding the incidents of November 7, 2007, against the former president of Georgia is ongoing.
