We Should Not Think That Any Document Will Resolve All Issues Once and For All: Konyalyan
The head of the 'Civil Contract' faction in the National Assembly, Hayk Konyalyan, stated during a public broadcast: 'The Republic of Armenia has proposed to the Republic of Azerbaijan to start consultations on the timelines and location for signing the agreement. When we move substantively down this path, the text will become known within the proper timeframe, the public will be informed about it, and the text will go through the procedures established by domestic legislation for ratification. This means that no one can hastily and secretly sign a significant document like a Peace Agreement from the public eye. This is yet another misleading statement from the opposition.'
'But I want to emphasize one thing, that we should not think that any document, including a significant document like the Peace Agreement, will resolve all issues once and for all. No, but this is an extremely important starting point, which will drive the agenda of establishing peace, and we have the political will for this,' Konyalyan added.
Essentially, the Peace Agreement, according to Hayk Konyalyan, is about establishing peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and this is a crucial step in establishing interstate relations between the two countries, closing the chapter of enmity, establishing peace, and moving forward.
