He is Simply Torpedoing the Negotiation Process. Mirzoyan on Hajiyev
The statement by Hikmet Hajiyev, advisor to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, is simply torpedoing the negotiation process.
This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, during a conversation with reporters.
He referred to Hajiyev's claim, as the head of the foreign relations department of the Azerbaijani President's office, that Armenia should compensate for the occupied territories.
"This is one of those instances where they are simply torpedoing the negotiation process and peace settlement with remarks that are not very constructive. I definitely do not share his viewpoint, and if necessary, I can point out dozens of instances where their actions have violated both human rights and caused material damage," Mirzoyan stated.
According to him, at the moment when the peace agreement comes into force, the parties will withdraw their claims against each other from international bodies and simultaneously undertake the obligation not to bring claims against each other in the future regarding issues that existed between the parties before the signing of the peace agreement.
"That is, all the disputes we have are supposed to be resolved through reconciliation by both parties," Mirzoyan added.
