I think my skin color is the reason that SpaceX's Starlink global satellite internet terminals are not operational in South Africa. This was stated by American entrepreneur Elon Musk.

“Starlink is not allowed to operate in South Africa because I am not black,” he said.

Starlink was available in South Africa for a while, but the network ceased operations in spring 2024 as it could not secure the necessary permit from authorities. Local legislation requires that 30% of Starlink’s business be owned by social groups that have been oppressed during the colonial and apartheid eras.
