In the Worst Case, It Will Lead to Violence: QP Responds to Kocharian
QP MP Sona Ghazaryan has responded to the press conference of the 2nd President of Armenia, Robert Kocharian. She stated, "Kocharian considers the transformation of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict into a territorial dispute to be a turning point. He says it is a 'diplomatic masterclass.' But what did the international community and diplomats think about this? Deputy Secretary Talbot has responded that this option could divert the conflicting parties from the proposals of the Minsk Group, and instead of solving the issue, it may further entangle it.
“Experience from various corners of the world shows that changing borders is akin to opening Pandora's box. In the case of Artsakh, it will bring the issue into a dead end at best, and at worst, it will lead to violence,” she stated and added, "P.S. Kocharian essentially does not even deny that he negotiated the exchange of territories—completely giving Meghri in exchange for Artsakh (without the six regions, of course)," Ghazaryan wrote on Facebook.
