Details on the Import of Electric Vehicles
The State Revenue Committee informs that, according to the decision No. 134 of the Eurasian Economic Commission Council dated November 24, 2023, the quota for the import of electric vehicles classified under HS Code 8703 80 000 2 with a 0% customs duty exemption has been set at 8,000 units for the year 2025. This quota has been distributed by the Government of Armenia decision No. 1876-N dated November 28, 2024, as follows:
1. Vehicles with a quantity not exceeding 3,000 units can be imported under the customs duty exemption by entities that carry out imports under a dealership-distributorship agreement signed with the vehicle manufacturer.
2. Vehicles with a quantity not exceeding 5,000 units can be imported by entities not mentioned in the first point (including individuals).
The SRC reports that as of February 14, 2025, inclusive, the following has been registered under the customs duty exemption: 412 units, or 13.7% of the allocated quota (3,000 units), have been imported by entities under a dealership-distributorship agreement with the manufacturer. Additionally, 4,067 units, or 81.3% of the allocated quota (5,000 units), have been imported by other entities not mentioned in the first point.
