Who is Behind the ZPMK Strike: 'Hraparak'
Despite the authorities, represented by Syunik deputies, attempting to show through an informational campaign the day before that the 11-day strike of ZPMK employees ended thanks to their effective efforts, it was actually the interview of the general director Roman Khudoli that resolved the situation. In this interview, the director threatened to name those behind the unrest. The authorities decided to get ahead and resolve the issue themselves.
According to some reports, the protest of workers is being sponsored from the highest level of the government. This is reported by 'Hraparak'. The fact is that the situation at ZPMK changed in December when a close associate of Suren Papikyan bought the 'Ingo' insurance company, and the upper echelon of the government urged the management of the combine to sign contracts with this company. The Prime Minister's office also tried to leverage the regular discontent to change the management of the combine. In short, various interests overlapped.
On the other hand, it is strange that the governor of Syunik, Robert Ghukasyan, has been in hiding during this time. Yesterday, Khudoli announced, 'We managed to return to normal working conditions despite various pressures and evaluations, recognizing the strategic and economic significance of the Company for the region and Armenia,'” the newspaper writes.
