Kostanyan on Protests in the Victory Neighborhood
The residents of the Victory neighborhood in Malatia-Sebastia have been waiting for decades for a resolution regarding their land ownership rights. The Yerevan City Hall has moved the process into a practical phase, and since 2022, 96 decisions have already been made based on land ownership documents.
This was reported by Haik Kostanyan, the press secretary of the Mayor of Yerevan, on his Facebook page. 'Today, residents of the neighborhood blocked the road to voice their concerns. In January, the Mayor of Yerevan met with the residents to discuss the issue, and last week, the Mayor's first deputy, Armen Pambukhchyan, also met with them and will meet them again this Wednesday. The city authorities are ready to continue working within their powers to find the best possible solution to the issue,' he wrote.
It should be noted that earlier reports indicated a tense situation in the Victory neighborhood, where citizens have blocked roads demanding resolution to their problems.
