Azerbaijani Side's Position is Highly Concerning: Simonyan
It has already been three months since our proposal received no response, and the Azerbaijani side's position is highly concerning. We discuss this with all international partners, and I believe it would be good for Azerbaijan to continue its participation in the peace process. This was stated by the Chairman of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, during a brief conversation with journalists.
“You all know that we have submitted a package, the response to which we are waiting for, but so far we have not received any reply. Perhaps this is related to the heightened situation between Azerbaijan and Russia, I do not know, but in any case, the Armenian side is waiting for a response,” noted the Speaker of the National Assembly.
“I cannot say, and I also cannot rule out anything,” Alen Simonyan said when answering a journalist's question about whether Baku is communicating with Moscow regarding the negotiated document.
“I believe that the Azerbaijani side understands that Armenia's independence, Armenia's sovereignty, the future of Armenia's sovereignty and independence, and the sovereignty of Azerbaijan, its future, and all these issues are very interrelated, and this is in our hands. Today we have a historical chance to resolve this issue once and for all and ensure peaceful coexistence for our descendants,” Simonyan added.
