The United States urges Azerbaijan to halt the escalating pressure on media and civil society. This was stated by U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken on X.
“We call on Azerbaijan to respect its international obligations to protect human rights and to release those unjustly detained, including Rufat Safarov, Sevinc Vagifgizi and others who have been jailed for their work in defense of human rights,” he wrote.
