Fled and Left Ruins: Erdogan on Assad
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has accused former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad of fleeing the country. Speaking after a Turkish government meeting on December 9, Erdogan stated that Assad has left the country in ruins.
“Assad has fled Syria, leaving numerous cities in ruins,” the Turkish president's words were quoted by RIA Novosti.
During his speech, Erdogan also declared that the fate of Syria should be determined by the people of the Arab Republic.
