In his statement on Truth Social, Trump emphasized the necessity of an immediate ceasefire and the urgent initiation of peaceful talks. The Trump administration intends to actively promote this initiative to achieve a peace agreement early in his presidency.

However, Russia's stance on this issue remains firm. Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has warned Western countries not to use the ceasefire as a means to regroup Ukrainian forces.
