The Threats Have Reached Such Levels That We Cannot Overcome Alone: Erdoğan
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech during the main session of the ‘Summit of the European Political Community’ held in Budapest, Hungary. Erdoğan addressed security issues and emphasized that they are not only military threats, terrorist attacks, and strategies of hybrid warfare. He highlighted that, in this context, everyone is affected by cyber attacks, migration, pandemics, and more.
Noting that the multifaceted security issues in Europe will be discussed in Budapest, Erdoğan stated: 'A significant portion of the dangers threatening our peace, stability, and prosperity has reached such levels that we cannot overcome them alone.'
In this context, Erdoğan referred to Turkey's EU membership process and expressed dissatisfaction, saying: 'There is no reasonable explanation for the fact that the inclusion of a candidate country like Turkey, which makes an important contribution to the well-being and security of the continent, has been obstructed for years.'
