«A Rather Long Conversation»: Simonyan Elaborates on the Pashinyan-Aliyev Meeting
Armenian National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan discussed the meeting between Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Kazan, detailing the agreements reached during their talks.
“A rather long conversation took place, initially directly at the table, where speeches were made. If I am not mistaken, the Prime Minister and the leader of the neighboring country conversed for more than an hour, after which the conversation transferred to a different format, the photos of which you have seen,” said Simonyan.
According to him, the discussions and agreements align with what has already been announced—establishing peace, opening communications, and discussions regarding prisoners. The Speaker characterized the regulations of the border delimitation commissions as a bilateral victory, underscoring that this is the first document between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
“Its implementation is one of the most crucial cornerstones for both Armenia's and Azerbaijan's independence and territorial integrity. We will move forward, and I am confident we will see positive progress,” he noted.
He emphasized that, with political will, all issues between Armenia and Azerbaijan are resolvable.
