Number of E. coli Infections Linked to McDonald's Reaches 75, One Fatality in the U.S.
The number of reported E. coli infections linked to American McDonald's hamburgers has reached 75, according to NBC News referencing the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
It has been reported that 22 individuals have been hospitalized. Cases have been confirmed across 13 states.
"The ages of the infected patients range from 13 to 88. Most of them are men," the report stated.
Previously, it was reported that about 50 individuals in the U.S. were infected with E. coli at McDonald's, with one fatality confirmed.
Joe Erlinger, the president of McDonald's USA, indicated that the cause of the mass poisoning was onions added to the hamburgers.
