Moldovan Communists Demand Central Election Commission to Stop Fraud
The former president of Moldova and leader of the opposition Communist Party, Vladimir Voronin, has sent an urgent appeal to the Central Election Commission of Moldova, demanding the cessation of mass fraud in the presidential elections and the referendum on constitutional changes for European integration.
This was stated by communist deputy Diana Karamanyan. On Sunday, presidential elections were held in Moldova, during which the leader of the republic was elected for a four-year term. Today, citizens were also supposed to participate in a referendum to answer whether they support constitutional changes aimed at joining the European Union.
Both voting events are considered valid, as the required 33.3 percent citizen participation was achieved. Voting at the polling stations in Moldova has concluded.
