According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, he made this statement during a ministerial meeting of the '3+3' regional consultative platform in Istanbul.
'By developing the capabilities of our border services and customs control with neighboring countries, the border service of Armenia will take full responsibility for ensuring the operation of the Armenia-Iran border checkpoint from January 1, 2025. In this regard, I would like to express my gratitude to the relevant authorities of the Russian Federation for their support and service over the years,' said Mirzoyan.
He also mentioned the 'Crossroads of Peace' project, noting that Iran is one of the first countries to welcome the initiative launched by the government of Armenia. Mirzoyan assured that with a mutual commitment to expand trade and communication ties with Iran, Armenia is taking active practical steps towards the construction of the North-South highway, assessing the advantages of using the 'Chabahar' port, and working to mutually reduce road tolls between our countries.
