If NATO Becomes a Party to the Conflict, This War Will Lead to a Greater Catastrophe: Scholz's Statement
The involvement of the North Atlantic Alliance in the Ukrainian conflict will lead to disaster, and such a development must be prevented, stated German Chancellor Olaf Scholz during a joint press conference after meeting with US President Joe Biden in Berlin.
“Our position is clear. We support Ukraine to the fullest extent. At the same time, we ensure that NATO does not become a party to the conflict, so that this war does not lead to a greater catastrophe. We are acutely aware of this responsibility, and no one can absolve us of that responsibility,” said Scholz.
