Erdogan Warns of Risk that Region Could Become War Zone
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has warned of the risk that Israel's increasing aggression could turn the region into a comprehensive war zone. Erdogan made these remarks during a meeting with Nechirvan Barzani, the leader of Iraqi Kurdistan.
“During the meeting, Turkish-Iraqi relations as well as regional and global events were discussed. President Erdogan expressed hope that the parliamentary elections scheduled for October 20 in the region would be favorable,” the presidential office reported.
“President Erdogan stated that there is a risk that Israel's escalating aggression will transform the region into a comprehensive war zone. Turkey attaches great importance to the stability and security of the entire region and appreciates Iraqi efforts to keep the country free from conflict,” the statement said.
