Aliyev Responds to Pashinyan's Proposal
Ilham Aliyev has referred to Armenia's proposal as unrealistic, calling for a signing of "everything that has already been agreed upon." Today, Aliyev stated that all points of the peace agreement hold equal value and cannot be separated from one another. He mentioned that he is not aware of any such precedents.
About a week ago, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan reaffirmed that the draft peace agreement is at least 80% agreed upon and then proposed to Baku to sign what has already been agreed upon, thereby achieving not only de facto but also de jure peace and continue to work on all other issues.
Pashinyan emphasized that there are no territorial claims against Azerbaijan or any other country in Armenia's Constitution and declared that peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan is not only possible but also attainable.
