New York City Mayor Pleads Not Guilty in Court
New York City Mayor Eric Adams has pleaded not guilty to corruption charges in court, according to CNN.
Adams faces five charges, including accepting bribes from foreign nationals. "Adams pleaded not guilty to charges of corruption, fraud, and conspiracy related to raising funds from foreign citizens for his (political) campaign," the network reported.
It was previously reported that Mayor Eric Adams declined to make a statement on the anniversary of the Armenian Genocide in exchange for a promised bribe from Turkey.
