We Must Make a Decision Based on the Realities We See: Erdoğan
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has stated that the United States and several other NATO members do not want Ukraine to become a member of the North Atlantic Alliance. His remarks were quoted by the American NBC television channel.
“The U.S. does not primarily want Ukraine to become a NATO member. Several NATO members do not want Ukraine to become a member of the alliance. We must make a decision based on the realities we see,” Erdoğan said.
According to him, the issue of Ukraine's membership in NATO is not one to be taken lightly. When deciding on Kyiv's accession to the alliance, it is necessary to consider the opinions of each NATO member.
