We Are Fully Prepared to Return to Our Obligations: Iranian President
Iran is ready to return to the terms of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and has no intention of continuing the development of nuclear weapons. This was announced by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian during a roundtable with journalists in New York.
“We are fully prepared to return to the obligations we assumed under the agreement, but it should not be the case that the United States and European countries, unwilling to fulfill their obligations, in turn ask us to return to our obligations,” Pezeshkian stated.
The Iranian president added that many countries have unjustly accused Tehran of attempting to develop nuclear weapons, while the thorough monitoring conducted by the IAEA and their assessments refute these accusations.
Meanwhile, Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced that Iran's delegation, led by President Masoud Pezeshkian, will attempt to initiate a new round of negotiations regarding Tehran's nuclear program within the framework of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) during the high-level week of the UN General Assembly in New York.
