French Prime Minister Announces National Debt Exceeds 3 Trillion Euros
The French national debt has exceeded 3 trillion euros, while the country's economy is in an extremely difficult situation. This was announced by Prime Minister Michel Barnier during a broadcast on France 2.
"Our country is going through an extremely complex path. France's debt amounts to 3 trillion euros, and servicing it costs over 50 billion euros," he stated.
According to the television channel, France's national debt is nearly 3.16 trillion euros. Barnier emphasized that "the government will not allow either an increase in national debt or cuts in environmental requirements." The government will seek to control expenditures and maintain pension reforms, he added.

"I do not rule out that the wealthiest compatriots may be required to contribute to measures aimed at stabilizing the economic situation," he noted.
