Brother of the CPP Mayor in Syunik Assaults Opposition Council Member
Residents of Tegh village claim that the CPP mayor and his brother are instilling fear in everyone. In an interview with Oragir.News, opposition council member Masis Zeynalanyan reported that the brother of the CPP mayor of Tegh village, Davit Ghulunts, namely Sasun Ghulunts, physically assaulted him and directed insults towards him and his family.
“I was walking in Goris, and he confronted me saying, ‘If we want, we can catch you; I caught you by force.’ We argued about community issues, and right away during our conversation, he hit me in the ear, also delivering sexual insults towards me and my family. He says they talk like men, but they can’t really act like one. They do whatever they want, imposing their will on everyone, feeding off the people, and residents are afraid to speak up,” he said.
According to the council member, he has already reported the incident to the police and will also appeal to the government to inform Nikol Pashinyan about the incident. “Let’s see if they can respond. I will take their response very seriously. The prosecutor’s office is theirs, the Ministry of Defense advisor is theirs, but no one should think they can try to confront me. I will go to the end. For his brother, this is fatal. They resolve every issue by frightening the residents so that no one speaks out. For these kinds of idiots, I specifically repeat—I haven’t touched their personal matters, but they are intruding into my family and confronting my family,” he concluded.
It is noteworthy that Tegh's CPP mayor, Davit Ghulunts, is the nephew of the former governor of Syunik, Melikset Poghosyan, and Poghosyan’s son, Masis Poghosyan, is the prosecutor of the Syunik region.
