Iran Ready for Negotiations with the West
Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi announced Tehran's willingness to engage in constructive negotiations to resolve disagreements with the West, emphasizing that talks should be based on mutual respect rather than pressure and threats.
In an interview with IRIB, Araqchi condemned the new Western sanctions under the pretext that Tehran is supplying weapons to Russia. The foreign minister reminded Western governments of the futility of sanctions, stating they cannot impose their will on Iran through punitive measures.
Araqchi noted that Iran has always advocated for dialogue and has never shied away from constructive negotiations to reach mutual understanding and resolve disagreements. He highlighted that Iran is prepared for negotiations based on mutual respect rather than threats and pressure.
At the same time, he criticized sanctions as a failed tool for confrontation and coercion rather than cooperation. “It is truly astonishing that Western governments are still resorting to the bad experience of sanctions,” the foreign minister added, advising them to change their course.
