Armenia Declares Russian Border Guards Will Not Participate, Despite Clear Written Agreement: Lavrov
The tripartite agreements between Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan remain in limbo. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, referring to the restoration of transport communication between Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan.
He emphasized that this provision is included in the statement signed on November 9 by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
“Initially, Armenia rejected the automobile route and insisted that it should only be a railway. Then suddenly, Armenia announced that Russian border guards would not participate, even though it is clearly stated in the November 9 declaration,” he said.
